1. Introduction

Welcome to Restore ("the App"), developed by Jackson Ringger ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the App:

• Camera Access and Images: To use the core feature of the App, you may grant permission to access your device's camera. This access is used only when you initiate image capture within the App to photograph book pages. These photographs are processed locally on your device to allow you to select text, and the original image files are discarded immediately after you save the selected highlight text. We do not store or transmit your photographs.
• User-Generated Content (Highlights & Book Info): We collect and store the text snippets you select from images ("Highlights"). When you associate a Highlight with a book, we also store the book's title and author, if provided by you. This information is stored locally on your device.
• AI-Generated Content: When you utilize the AI insight features, we store the summaries, flashcards, and information about connections between highlights generated by the AI service. This content is generated based on your Highlights and associated book information and is stored locally on your device.
• Subscription Status Information: To manage access to premium features, we utilize Apple's In-App Purchase system and the RevenueCat service. We receive information about your subscription status (e.g., active, expired) via RevenueCat, which processes purchase receipts from Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details (like credit card numbers); Apple handles all payment processing.

We explicitly DO NOT collect:

• Personal analytics data about your interaction patterns within the App (e.g., button taps, screen views).
• Your precise location data.
• Any other personal information not directly related to the functions described above.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

• To Provide Core App Functionality: Storing your Highlights and associated book information allows you to build and access your personal library within the App. Camera access is used only for capturing content as described above.
• To Generate AI Insights: Your selected Highlight text, along with associated Book Title and Author (if provided), is sent to the OpenAI API service only when you initiate an AI

feature (like generating summaries, flashcards, or connections). This data is used by OpenAI to generate the requested insights, which are then sent back to the App and stored locally on your device for your use.

• To Manage Subscriptions: We use subscription status information provided via Apple and processed by RevenueCat to determine your access level to features (e.g., unlimited highlights).
